I'm so pleased! Last week I was able to get together once again with the wonderful violetstarshine for a day in the city and a photo shoot! We took a million pictures in the park, and had a grand time. ♥ Here is the first batch of photos, featuring my Belinda and Violet's Holly, who is stunningly gorgeous. This shoot is double-extra special because it's only the third time I have ever taken photos of Belinda, and the first time I have done a photoshoot with more than one doll!

( A story emerges? )

I may have just bought a nude Nahh-Ato and a dark Obitsu body. Just maybe. For a custom that I may or may not have in mind. Maybe. Heh heh.
Dearie me, however did I end up with so many dolls?!
My custom "Mr. Brightside" doll, Destiny, is nearly done. Her faceup turned out a little more... like a painting, and less realistic, than I had hoped; but that can't be helped, because I DID paint her entire face. I think she'll be pretty, though, as soon as I get some lighter colors of paint to soften her eyebrows and lips.
My Anne, Maggie, hasn't gotten a lot of attention lately. I looked forward to her for so long, but now I'm not too inspired by her. I think perhaps she'll need a couple of photoshoots. And some clothes. I only have like, one outfit that works with her coloration and personality.
And really, one of these days, I should do a photoshoot with more than one doll in it. I guess I just find that dressing a doll and taking photos is how I bond with her, and it's the doll's time alone with me, if you will. ; ) But wouldn't it be fun to do some group shots! I don't think I'll ever make picfics, even though my girls all have distinct personalities and relationships. I prefer art-type photography, I guess.
The girl I have found continually the least inspiring, however, is Belinda, my Fanatica. I don't know, I think she's just beautiful, but we haven't really bonded - ever since I changed her name (it used to be Audrey, but that just WASN'T working). Anyway I'm thinking of getting her a white wig. I think she'd look just darling (ha ha, Belinda Darling, that's her name... eh-hm) in a cropped white wig.
So that's two white wigs I need to buy now! Why, you ask? Well, that custom I may or may not be making from Nahh-Ato needs a long, thick, flowing, wild white wig.
Now for a game: Guess who she's going to be? ; )

| An embarrassment of riches |
[03 Oct 2006|04:09am] |
Today, I opened my Anne Shirley, who had been sitting in her box since July! I was waiting for a good time - she's only the second girl I've ever gotten MIB - and finally I just couldn't stand it any longer. Gosh she's adorable. ♥
And as I was admiring her, lo and behold, a package showed up at my door! Everyone, I highly recommend Valley of the Dolls. I bought nude Squall and she was here in TWO days! Ridiculous!
And she's so beautiful. I just adore all her hair, I can't imagine wanting to cut it. I even love her high forehead.
Anyway, in my overdose of Pullip joy, of course I had to take some pictures; but I only have the energy to put up the ones of Anne for now... you'll have to wait 'till tomorrow to see Squall (whom I have to find a name for, hmm).
In the meantime, here's Anne-Margaret Shirley, known as Maggie - profile on the way!

I just ordered Squall!
I've wanted her for a while, and I saw her nude for a reallly good price, and bam! Just like that she's mine!
But instead of feeling thrilled, I'm a little guilty. I haven't even played with the last doll I got, MIB Anne - I've been waiting for a good time to open her. So the question is starting to be - do I have too many dolls? o_O
My current list:
Nero - Jeannette Panda - Roseanne Fanatica - Belinda Mitzi - Mimi Greggia - Georgia MIB Anne - I'm waiting for a good time to open her! Oooo. Unfinished custom Taeyang - Legolas (LOTR) Unfinished custom Pullip - Destiny ("Mr. Brightside" girl)
I have brought myself recently to say goodbye to one doll, my first custom, Andalucia. Do I want to say goodbye to any others? Honestly the one I would consider would be Belinda... I've connected with her least out of all my dolls. But she is a beauty, and I know if I let her go I won't be able to get another one. I also know that if I do let her go it shouldn't be now - she's only going to go up in price, I'd think.
And I'm not desperate for money or anything, and as long as I've got eight I might as well have nine... My only worry is that I'm not paying enough attention to my girls. But yaknow, I still dress them up all the time and rotate them on my desk and take pictures of them.
So I should probably get myself excited over Squall, because gosh darnit, I might as well, right? ; )
( lavirgule, this is all your fault! Your photographs of Olivia...)

Jeannette's modeling career has really taken off since her Pullip Next Top Model win! Here she is in her outfit from Vogue: Pullip's upcoming feature spread on the key trends for the fall 2006 season - including volume, a belted waist, tights, and ankle boots. And of course, houndstooth, velvet, and royal purple are classic elements for any autumn ensemble.
